Thank you for having the courage to fight for free speech and to allow reflection and seeking guidance from our Higher Power in our legislature. It absolutely concerns me that our current President wants people like Judge David Hamilton to curtail our First Ammendment Rights. As a health care worker, I am also concerned that Obama is trying to overturn the conscience clause.

This is a sad reality of the fact that the Governor and his party are beholden to the Teacher Unions that want the status quo upheld of public schools receiving their funding at current or increased levels whether their schools show succesfful results or not. Competition breeeds jealousy and when charter schools begin outperforming some public schools, the result is to go after those groups behind the successful charter programs. This same party that wants to stifle school choice here in Ohio is also the same group that wants to bail out the auto industry over and over again without seeing results that these companies have an economically viable plan to recover nor produce products that Americans want to purchase when compared to other models and brands! But ~~ they have a mandate and their constituencies voted for CHANGE! It will get worse before it gets better.

Thank you for your recent posting of the proposed fees. While some fees are necessary for the continuation of services, exorbitant fee increases are not going to foster a positive relationship between government, businesses and consumers in Ohio. You are correct...Nothing is Free...it is the everyday, hard working person that pays for all of the fees, indirectly via the cost of the goods and services. The smaller percentage fee increases are not so bad, but some of the very large increases would surely put a burden on those that must pay the fees, and ultimately the consumer.

One of the most pressing issues facing Ohio today is the dramatic loss of quality jobs. This makes it imperative for our state government to create an economic environment that is conducive to creating new jobs. Ohio is already one of the most expensive states in which to do business. Raising fees that are required to do business in our state only exacerbates this dire situation. There may be businesses that are brave enough to stay in Ohio and weather this fiscal onslaught. However, if they incur an increase in the cost of doing business, it will simply translate into an increase in the cost of their products. The group that will be hurt the most by this is the Ohio consumers, who will experience an inflation in their cost of daily living as a result of this irresponsible assault on the businesses of Ohio. We should be making it less expensive to conduct business in Ohio to encourage businesses to locate here. Unfortunately, Gov. Strickland appears not to understand this. A fee based system does make sense. Having those people who consume services pay for them is a good policy. However, 300% - 400% increases (as exist in some of these fees) is ridiculous. My suggestion would be for him make an urgent appointment with his proctologist to have his brain examined.

Why don't you tell the whole story Jonny, an investigation into those "hundreds questioned by Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters" found no other problems.

But keep it up, I love the irony of reading about voter fraud from someone that doesn't live in the district they vote in.

The far more detailed study of the Tax Foundation says Ohio has one of the most unhealthy business climate in the country.

Now that the GOP is in the minority in the House, thanks largely to your leadership, you really think the winning message is to say "Actually, Ohio business owners, your taxes are low! Thank us!"?

Absurd.

I would like to thank you for all your work on trying to keep our elections fair in Ohio. Just imagine how many votes were cast in "the Golden Week" in heavily democratic areas like Cuyahoga County. We need to clean up this electoral process in Ohio.

Well, too bad that the Gov did not read your blog post nor listen to any other source of sage advice on this bill. He vetoed it and continues to live in the world of make-believe. And he's not moving anytime soon.
